The building has sat unused for many, many years. The proposal is to create a creative Cultural, Art & Media facility to promote cultural activity and mental wellbeing by connecting various parts of the community.
The building is close to an Academy, Health Centre, outdoor park and vibrant traditional High street.
The use of the building for cultural activities complements the health and wellbeing activities in the health Centre and park, would assist the academy and would be supported by the foot fall from the commercial high street.
The facilities would attract all ages: Youth from the local Stoke Newington Academy and sixth form-Media Arts, to further develop their skills after school.
Local people especially encouraged to get involved in the centre i.e. non-working stay-at-home or retirees, given opportunities to come and mix with other groups and individuals.
It would also be a Local creative media Hub for young professionals providing facilities and meeting point.
