Project Description

A Grade 2 listed building from around 1700, untouched since 1936. All of the windows, interiors and the services were in very poor condition and needed to be replaced.

Design

The property was  completely stripped back to bare bones, re-planned and refurbished. Successful negotiations held with Wiltshire planning for new double glazed windows and for new openings for  bi-fold doors and new roof dormers and interior remodelling.

During the strip out, original features and hidden materials were discovered, refurbished and reinstalled. The property now has more original 1700’s details than before and is lighter, airier, warmer and drier and more technology that make it a truly modern home with Character.

Energy

Energy efficiency- through insulating all of external walls as well as the roof and floors internally combined with double glazing and a new efficient LPG boiler have resulted in heating costs that are less than the owners previous Victorian terraced house.
