Redevelopment of a three storey sealed office building into 19 naturally ventilated apartments, by adding 7 duplex apartments. The permission came as a combination of several planning applications including a successful appeal.
The apartments exceed design code’s spatial, daylight, ventilation and acoustic requirements. Internal layouts have integrated smart technology, low energy bills, natural cross ventilation, increased energy performance and generous internal layouts and external balconies.
DJADS developed the planning design into building control and tender packages and the project has now been completed.
Utilising an underused car park at the rear of Millennium House the concept was to build a three bedroom house as Mansion ‘Coach’ house. In the same materials and style as the main building, to ‘green’ the carpark, planting bushes, tree and turf and changing the tarmac to a surface which allows grass to grow. The project is currently processing through the planning process.
