A dilapidated, listed Grade 2, 1760’s terraced property was converted from a storage unit into a high end retail clothes shop.
The whole property required substantial repairs and insertions of structure where original oak structures were failing, residential apartments above required acoustic and fire separation.
Originally with a basement whose ceiling height was below 1.7 meters. The level of the ground floors was raised so that the basement was useable.
New floor layouts were developed along with new street accesses to the unit and the apartments above. A new traditional shopfront was designed to conservation area requirements, whilst unobtrusively using anti-riot, anti-intrusion materials.
The interior was styled with reclaimed materials and exposed brick work with all new services discreetly concealed throughout.
DJADS took the project from concept through planning, building control and tender package to full building control and project signoff.
